Ooooo weeeee, summer is cooking already on the upcoming release tip and this cosmic beat junkie could not be happier. Quartet Series announced S3A (short for Sampling As An Art) is getting his own EP in the Trophy Series titled Climax. His Antois Benime (Austral Parc) was a big jam off the second release of the Mutant Tournament series and the snippets over on Juno are sounding tight. Kon's second on his Kontemporary imprint is getting teased now by Ms. Honey Dijon and I'm so very very very giddy about getting my hands on this sweet edit of lovely Sylvester sentiment.
I'll send you off into the weekend with this great Dekmantel 2016 set from none other than Palms Trax to give you all the spring affirmation you'll need as warm weather plots it's stay for the season.
Deliciously crushed disco, a'la Crydamoure from AVA on Clap Your Hands (70's Mix) is quite the party opener, and must be obeyed. Let's move along to some silky Various Artist action for you, ooh yeah a threesome. Slide under the covers with; Juan Hoerni, Steve Graeber, and Zachary Mouton & Juan Hoerni on the great 'The Lost Tracks' EP . Upping the tempo, dramatically I snagged DJ Katapila's Ghana Baby Dj. It's a real delight when a record sounds kinda 'wrong' at both speeds - no shade meant by that, I love it! Right one more, and lets finish on something beautiful from Double Touch who are offering up a 'Broken Paradise', I'll take 2 tickets please.
Hope y'all like seafood, cause Lobster Records' served up a sweet catch recently. A nice 4-piece release from the newly minted 13th Hour Records to be exact, and it's got equal hemisphere representation too, with Subjoi calling Australia home, and Ricky Razu hailing from Belgium. All four tracks lean toward the deep end of the house music pH scale, but if you're a fan of those soulful, NY Garage vibes, you've gotta hear Reaching Out. Preview that whole release direct from Lobster. This next one I had to mention because it's gonna be in my headphones while I'm out hiking this weekend. The mysterious newcomer, Sports Casual, dropped off an EP for the ever so clever Exotic Robotics label last month, and it's got all the fixins. Breakbeats, italo-house style woodwinds, soothing synth leads, and field recordings. Higher Place is where it's at. Grab that one while you can off Juno. Closing out here with a little random tidbit, apparently Cardi B likes house music y'all, now if you'll excuse me I need to go listen to house remixes of Bodak Yellow. Till next week pals!
