This week I’m on a definite non-Western tip. The new EP ‘Aegean Sea’ from Fold on Aus Music is some super great Afro biz that’ll please the patio dancers this summer. The package comes complete with an emotive sweat box remix from Mall Grab on the already deep af Marimba Echoes. Found a mysterious label Studio 89 when scouting another clearance love affair on Downtown 304 earlier this week. Specializing in sleazy Euro edits on their first venture, the second release has a great DAF edit along with a tough yet campy flexer that’s probably gonna set off a weird Halloween party come late October. If you remember, DAF was a big discovery for me early on in the blogs foundation so revisiting this synthy Euro magic is becoming pretty necessary in recycling crucial sounds of dance history into the learning journey that is DJing. Gonna wrap with another tune from West Friends for now though, Tom Blips ‘More Vocal’ should help get your pores open and used to the summer heat till next Thursday. Peace!!

So stoked that I managed to pick up Super Value Edits Vol 4 this week that contains my favorite edit of all time, a very emotive rework of Eddie Kenricks 'Going Up In Smoke', completely sublime. Looking for a bit of squelch this week? Yeah, me too, so head over to the Hell Yeah bandcamp and preorder this tasty release from Somerville & Wilson. I guess I'm feeling pretty jiggly this week as I also picked up the ace Silk Cutlery EP from Jive talk, which comes replete with 3 certified blammers. Take it easy till next time, love ya'll.

Gotta start out with a throwback, I'd been looking for the ID on this particular edit for quite some time, and just a few days ago, I was lucky enough to find it in a repress of one of Gay Marvine's edits. His rework of I Want Your Love was the first time I ever heard that tune, and I'll never forget it, grab that reup quick like over here. Onto the new, Honey Dijon recruited a super sweet cast of producers to remix some of the tracks off of her Best of Both Worlds LP, and straight up, the soulful Horse Meat Disco cut of Look Ahead is what I need in my life. Grab the whole thang over here. Closin' out here with some previews off of the new Lovedancing release, which has contributions from Felipe Gordon, Sleazy McQueen, Eddie C and Vagabundo Club Social. Peep that one over here and I'm ghost till next week y'all.
