Been feeling all the feelings and basking in the power of good music with the new one from Kaffe Creme on Vertv this week. Along with that Scrimshire just put out some new reworks on Wah Dubplates that are proving to be a solid follow up to the Summer Lovin' Edits Ben and I enjoy so much. Peep that Earth, Wind and Fire goodness right here for yourself to jam into the weekend. Gonna leave you with some peak mixing realness that is Luke Solomon's Boiler Room from years ago, frustratingly no one is dancing (go figure) cause that truth is laid upon thee with no apologies and humble concentration. His Classic Music Company partner Derrick Carter can be seen mingling throughout chatting before going on next AND it was filmed on a Sunday night which might explain the lack of energy in the crowd but thats really no excuse tbh. Oh well, PEACE!
It's hot where we are, like really hot. Everything is sweating, even the street signs have a pregnant-glow! Since we're all sweatin' anyway, we may as well werk! Oh! Records can get things started with 1990 by Redward. The Menshen Remix is the pick for me but the whole thing is peachy. Replug records straight outta Finland are releasing 'Look Closer' by Michael A. Judging by the youtube timestamp, this track has been around a little while, so we're really glad it's found a home and can touch more people with its gently cavorting arpeggios. Alright, now our tingle-fingers are full extended, wrap your mind around 'The Layout EP', a hazy fantasy from Andrade. See you next week, eat good music three times a day!
When it comes to music and physical mediums, it doesn't get much better than a high quality compilation of hard to find records. Joey Negro has been blessing us poor, boogie obsessed, types for years, and most recently, with the Backstreet Brit Funk series. Volume 2, part 2 just made its way to my local shop the other day, and I'm not jokin' when I said I grabbed that thang quick like. Loving every bit of it so far, but get on them snippets over here for yourself. Speakin' of the new new, Bjorn Torske premiered his track, Clean Air, off his forthcoming album the other day and it's got some of the usual Nordic disco treats, driving bass line, melodic keys, great stuff all in all. Listen to that track and pre order the whole album over here. Till next time y'all.
