So much goodness abound for the summer as it is officially arriving with its sweaty knees business and suchhh. Better Listens 11th on the parent label presents all the freshy flavor with Saint Paul's Naturist Behavior; you can actually give those listens over on Soundcloud and might as well give the sunscreen some application while you're at it. Those new Daniel T Edits on the best established contemporary disco service quite possibly ever will be tanning my forearms mighty nice this season along with that second Pleasure of Love release from Pau Roca. Going to finally remember to drop this additional lil nugget on ya after JP learnt us on that Natural Rhythm business a month or so ago. Sounds easily as accessible as he'd mentioned too. Peace y'all!!
Starting things off easy and breezy with Smith & Mudd, 'Janet 50'. Claremont always has the goods, and their compilations are a great way to covert your grandparents to balearic music, and possibly lead them in to taking drugs with you. Yeah, but how about banging something that completely boxes out anyone who doesn't 'get it'? Well, get ready to feel the Greymatter Remix of, Kruse & Nuernberg, 'More & More' in your loins (the original is tite too! Oh, wait hold up. I believe I ordered a wonk with this meal? 'Scuuuuse me maam, can you bring me over a big dollop of Ugly Frankie's '25 Joints EP'? Thank you, this does go well with the ham'.
Terre Thaemlitz, aka DJ Sprinkles doesn't say much in the public eye, so when her collaborative mix with Hardrock Striker was announced for Skylax Records, my ears perked up. The first volume of three to be released on wax is a real treat, offering up plenty of audible 'nods' to the golden era of New York night life, loving every one of these snippets, check'em out for yourself over here. Staying true to that golden era, I stumbled upon a collection of previously unreleased tracks from Casey Tucker, out on For Those That Knoe last week. Not much to offer up in the ways of background info, but the tracks speak for themselves. Lots of dreamy, acidic and bouncy bits packed into that vinyl only release, peep it over yonder. Roundin' out here, Joe Europe & UK DJ/producer/rave scene triple O.G. Warlock sat down for a chat for Ransom Note's Hot Air Podcast recently, and the result is an hour of rave history as well as an exploration in DIY endeavors and more, listen to the whole thing here. That'll do it for me, till next week friendos!
