Welp, uncovered even more quality tunes the past week, this time from a label that seems associated with some sort witchery. Brian Bristol’s Ear Candy was reissued last April on Mysticisms in London and houses three very functional remixes of the mid nineties NYC house tune courtesy of Brown Sugar, FYI Chris, and Nutrasweet. There’s also a new one thats allllmost fully available to the public from Vertv out of France. It’s Armless Kid’s new EP Choices chock full of fun things and has me hankering to wiggle some breaky stuff into my sets. Peep the clips over here and lastly this just popped up soon to be released on Lobster Theremin and I’d just lose sleep at night if I didn’t tell y’all. Catch ya next week!
We’re gearing up for some bigness this year at CI HQ. Business bigness your highness. You’ll see, you’ll ALL see! Mix series alum Frank Agrario dropped this killer EP last month, and it’s still got the walls shaking. I do so wish Tom Tom Disco would press some records, but they have a good thing going on regardless - so i’ll mind my own business. And, relax with this supremely beachy and blissed-out remix of Marius Vareid’s ‘Vallefaret’ from Jarle Braathen, go on it even starts off kind like ‘The Boy Is Mine’, and I fucks with those vibes. Speaking of those vibes, HNNY just dropped all his bootleg vinyl series on soundcloud for free, so hurry up and do that.
If you told me Kenny Dope would do an all 7" dubplate set in the year 2019, I woulda called you a damn fool until this week, as that's exactly what went down in promotion for Technics 7th launch. The man housed it all the way up, throwing damn near every flavor you could think of in the mix, check that hour of power out here. Another wonderful surprise was finding out that the third volume of mule musiq's Midnight in Tokyo series is coming next week, compiled by Toshiya Kawasaki and full of gems, snippets can be found here & pre orders here. Next up is personal fav Roza Terenzi's new feature in hyponik, wherein I learned I had been sleeping for some fierce amount of time and missed her split for Butter Sessions with the far out, tuff, and just all out groover, 'Paranoia on Tap', not to mention the new EP with D. Tiffany on Oscillate Tracks. Mistakes were made, but best believe those digis are mines now, get'em while they're hot y'all. Till next time!
