Oh dang, stop everything you’re doing and get this Strip Steve in your life! His Shy Funk EP on Clone’s Royal Oak imprint has met me in every right way I can imagine this week. It’ll give your mind or your body blissful glistens if you let it too. Along with that a jazzy little thing on MCDE was uncovered in the same place as well upon my virtual digging quest. Hugo LX’s Desiderata EP came out last summer and shows I might be slackin’ for something this good to have slid under the radar. The deep cuts are emotive and pretty like I like it but ‘Power’ really stands out for me. The arrangement really punches precise and throughout. That’s all I got for this week cosmonauts! I’ll holler back in another 7 suns!

Let’s start things off with that exotica beat, I’m a huge sucker for nature sounds, and ‘Si Tú’ Mi from Jaime Narvaez ticks all the right boxes, even a Erykah sample for good measure! Brazilian drumming legend Ivan ‘Mamão’ Conti has been experimenting and innovating for the last half a century, and this month we get ‘Poison Fruit’ , an incredible tickling of the palm leaves for your bars and dinner parties, ya swingers! Alright, last one let’s move slightly away from the beachy vibes and turn the lights down with Verrina & Ventura’s ‘Boca’. Bye bye love you.

New Peach Discs makes for a sweet start to the year, this time, label boss Shanti Celeste & her pal Hodge have teamed up for the Soba Dance EP. Each track offers a mesmerizing mix of techno and electro that I can best describe as primordial rave, but don't just take my weird word for it, pre-orders are up now on bandcamp. For something completely different, Soul Clap's Italo Funk comp is out tomorrow, get that synth bass all up in ya face. Now it's time for disco, or at least, Sound Stream's looped up version of such, cause there's a brand new double 12" comin out. Love Remedy packs 10 tracks across the LPs, with two untitled / bonus tracks apparently included, grab that one here. That'll do it for me, till next week y'all!
